It's easy as. Pick your kit → choose your event date → we ship it out a few days early so you can have a play → you film literally everything → send it back with the prepaid return label → we edit it for you. Learn more here

Because we’re completely booked out.

When dates sell out (which happens fast) we turn off online bookings that month to avoid overlap and protect every customer’s experience.

The good news? We reopen our shop/cart during months where we still have availability.

Easy just check out with the Solo Camcorder + multiple add ons option like normal. We’ll get in touch and put together a separate invoice for your add-ons so everything stays accurate and your booking’s locked in.

We’ve built each kit using the most-loved combos. But if you’ve got your heart set on a vintage cam over a modern one (or vice versa) we’re more than happy to customise it as long as the cams you want are available for your dates.

Most couples book Us On Film as well as their photographer or videographer because it gives them two totally different perspectives.

In saying that we have plenty of smaller, intimate or laid back weddings and events that choose to use just us because that's the vibe they want or we fit within their budget.

You’ll be sweet.Each kit comes with a super simple guide + filming tips + ideas on what to capture but most people figure it out in about 30 seconds. That’s the beauty of old school cameras they’re meant for real people, anyone can use them.

Short answer: no.

Long answer: we take your footage and craft it into a cohesive, nostalgic edit that feels like YOUR footage not a random TikTok.

We choose the music and the style to match the vibe of the day whether it's soft, fun, chaotic, aesthetic, romantic… whatever your footage gives us. We’re not trying to create a Hollywood film, we’re trying to bottle a feeling. And that only works when we edit with full creative control. This is how we keep the quality high and the turnaround fast.

If you’re booking one of our Double Camera or Photo + Video kits, you can choose things like your project title, whether you want swearing or certain moments cut out, and a few personal preferences and music choice.

We'll always fix factual errors like names, dates, or spelling, but we don’t re-edit for preference (“Can you swap this clip?” or “Can you change the vibe?”).

Usually 1–2 weeks from the time your kit arrives back with us. If we’re slammed (wedding season) we’ll let you know by updating this on our website and social media and reaching out.

Yes if you select the Raw Footage option or if you’re hiring our Double Camcorder Kit. Solo camcorder hires and our Photo + Video kits don’t include raw files by default.

Yep! We're based in Papamoa Beach but we ship anywhere in the North Island and South Island. You just pay to ship the camcorder to you and return shipping is on us.

We’re now shipping to Australia for select dates.
Kits are shipped 7–10 days before your event, and the prepaid international return label is included.

We do everything humanly possible to get your kit to you on time, but courier delays are outside our control. If something goes wrong, flick us an email we’ll always try to make it right the best we can. More details in here

If anything happens before or during your hire, email us right away. If you notice it at the end of your hire, just fill out the End of Hire Form. We pop one in every box so make sure you fill it in before your cam comes back so you’re not held liable for anything that happens in transit.

Depending on what happened, we may offer a replacement or credit. If it’s caused by misuse, damage, loss, or not returning the kit you’ll be charged the replacement cost. Gear Cover is available if you want peace of mind for any minor damage.

You can cancel anytime but full payments are non-refundable.You can reschedule up to 14 days before your event if the date is available.

Surprisingly… no. Camcorders make people forget they're on camera. They’re non threatening, nothing like a huge video camera pointing at your face which is why the footage always feels real.

Each battery lasts around 2–4 hours of continuous recording depending on the model. But because most people film in short snippets and switch the camera on and off, the battery usually lasts the entire day when used normally.

We don’t post full Modern Day Home Videos as those are special to the people in them. But every clip you see on our site and socials was filmed on our camcorders and cameras by real couples, real friends, real guests not just actors, staged shoots or models.

Camcorders make you forget you’re being filmed they're low pressure and not intimidating. No giant lenses. No weird posing. And remember it’s usually your friends, family or partner recording, not a stranger. That’s why everything feels so natural.

We had one shy couple tell us afterwards "We didn’t even realise half of this was being filmed… and it’s our favourite footage.”

Most of the time, yes! If a cam is available, we can ship it out the week of your booking date sometimes even the day before (you’d be shocked how often this happens). If you’re trying to hire a camcorder last minute, flick us a email and we’ll see what we can do.

Public holidays, weekends and summer disappear quickly, we usually have dates booked out a year in advance. So if you’re eyeing a kit, get in touch as soon as you’ve decided.
